We opened The Curious Kitchen in August 2016 after a couple of years of looking for the right premises in the small fishing town of Brixham. We found 14-16 Middle Street in the May of 2016 and for 3 very hard months with our fantastic local workforce (a big thanks to: David Egan & Craig, David Rickard, Martyn Aubrey, Dean the dancing plumber, Meyrick Evans, Lance & Keith from Lance Dart & QTOS Catering!) we completely transformed the space into exactly what we were looking for. We ripped out all the current fittings except for our beautiful tiles which were covered with carpet! We exposed the two RSJ's, used reclaimed floorboards for our counter, window seats & back wall, added panelling & metro tiles, new lighting and a complete new kitchen, coffee machine & till system!

We had the vision from the very beginning that we wanted to serve fresh, healthy, modern food with really good coffee & loose leaf tea along with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans & coeliacs. Finding local suppliers was very important to us, you can read more about all our suppliers HERE. We wanted all our food to be prepared in our own kitchen and to make as much as possible from scratch. You can find out more about our food & coffee HERE or read our Menu HERE!
